Welp, that happened.
Four-star linebacker Otis Reese, who had been committed to the Michigan Wolverines for what seemed like forever, officially flipped his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs this morning, signing his letter of intent at his high school in Leesburg, Georgia.
The 6-foot-4, 206-pound linebacker verbally committed to the Wolverines in June of 2016, but with the Georgia Bulldogs becoming a legitimate threat in the SEC and being close to home, Reese had some thinking to do over the past several months. He visited the Bulldogs (at least) four times since September, and Kirby Smart and company were recruiting him as hard as any recruit over the past few months.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but it should be viewed as a heavy disappointment.
Michigan’s recruiting class ranking fell from No. 18 overall to No. 21 with the de-commitment and all the commitments that unfolded throughout the day, per 247Sports’ composite team rankings.
