The Michigan Wolverines have been on a roll in the recruiting world since their big recruiting extravaganza last weekend.
Since then, the Wolverines have received six commitments to their 2019 class and two commitments to their 2020 class. And it appears another commitment could be on the way for the 2019 class, as 3-star athlete Giles Jackson put the Wolverines in his final four list.
Michigan joins USC, Oregon and Oregon State as the final contenders for Jackson’s services.
“I put Michigan in my top four because I felt super comfortable there on my visit, and the coaches and the players treated me great and I like how they are changing their offense around for guys like me,” Jackson told Maize n Brew on Thursday.
Hmm. Changing the offense, eh? How so?
“(Michigan is) adding a slot running back position to their offense. Basically adding jet sweeps and wildcats somewhat similar to what they did with Jabrill Peppers on offense,” he said. “I think I would do really well. Watching their linemen, they are monsters.”
Jackson, who is from Oakley, California, is listed at 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds. He is listed as an all-purpose back on 247Sports and is being recruited at that slot running back position by Michigan running backs coach Jay Harbaugh. Jackson believes he will have a final decision in August, but isn’t 100 percent sure.
He visited Michigan last Friday during their big recruiting weekend, as previously mentioned, and is also set to participate in Nike’s The Opening camp this weekend, an experience he hopes to “get better by going against other top prospects and make some new friends.”
