Jahquez Robinson, a 3-star cornerback from Jacksonville, Florida, made his verbal commitment just two days ago to the University of Alabama. Regardless, the Michigan Wolverines, led by defensive backs coach Michael Zordich, just offered the 6-foot-1.5, 174-pounder a scholarship.

He received his offer from Michigan Wednesday, and it caught him a bit off guard.
“Shocked,” Robinson told Maize n Brew on his initial reaction to the offer. “It kind of surprised me, and that’s a top level offer.”
Robinson doesn’t know much about Michigan football to this point. He has never visited Ann Arbor, but admitted he looks forward to visiting this spring.
“I have to get on a visit, but very excited to get up there,” he said.
Some things Robinson said he will be looking for on his future visit include how the coaches coach their players, meeting coach Jim Harbaugh, getting to know Zordich more and seeing what Zordich expects out of his players.
So what would a school have to do to make Robinson de-commit from ‘Bama?
“I wouldn’t say a school can do anything, but if I feel the school is a better fit for me and benefits me more than (Alabama), that’s what will change my mind,” he said. “Everything felt right (at Alabama). I liked the vibe I got from the school and coach Sal and Saban really wanted me there.”
Robinson also holds offers from LSU, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas and others. He is the No. 40 cornerback and No. 573 overall player on 247Sports’ composite rankings, but is ranked much higher (No. 23 cornerback, No. 298 overall) on 247.
