2020 3-star Ohio CB Deshawn Jones talks Michigan offer

We caught up with Jones about his Michigan offer

Akron, Ohio native Deshawn Jones impressed the Michigan Wolverines enough to land an offer earlier this week.

We spoke with Jones, who said Michigan is definitely one of the top teams he is considering. The 3-Star CB holds offers from 15 schools in all, including Indiana, Minnesota, and Rutgers.

During a phone call with secondary coach Mike Zordich, Jones was asked if he was ready to lock up any receiver in man-coverage, to which Jones responded “yes, definitely!”.

Jones plans to visit on his spring break, and has been able to watch Michigan games over the past two seasons, saying “they play fast and get after it.”

When asked what type of player he is, Jones talked about how he wants to play receiver in college on top of cornerback duties.

“I’m an athlete I can play any skilled position whether it’s offense or defense. I can cover well in man or zone and I’m a willing tackler.” Jones went on to say he thinks he’s most effective with the ball.

Jones Akron East teammate, linebacker Bangally Kamara, also holds an offer from Michigan, Jones said the Wolverines are high up his list of schools as well.

The 5-11, 170 pound Jones is the 52nd ranked cornerback in his class, according to 247 Sports.
