On Sunday morning, 2020 3-star Viper William Mohan decided to end his recruitment by committing to Michigan. He was the first of four on Sunday for the Wolverines, as Jordan Morant, Reece Atteberry and Aaron Lewis all committed to Michigan.
With Mohan receiving other offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Miami (FL) and more, this was a big recruiting win for Don Brown and company, especially considering he visited the Buckeyes last weekend.
We caught up with Mohan shortly after he committed to Michigan.
“My parents love it, the vibe over there is amazing, it’s a calm hard rep city,” Mohan told Maize n Brew. “The coaches’ energy with me is amazing. Love (Jim Harbaugh), they have the position that I’m designed to do on the field and I just feel like I can go and achieve my dreams if I commit there.”
That position, of course, is Viper.
At 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, Mohan seems to fit the Viper mold quite well. In his highlight tape below, his quickness to getting to the quarterback is what stands out, which is something you need to be good at if you want to play Viper.
Mohan believes he needs to improve “my coverage skills and reading plays better,” but he’s also confident in his abilities, saying “mostly I’m good at what I do.”
The Wolverines have now taken a commitment from a Viper in each of the last three classes — Joey Velazquez in 2019, Michael Barrett in 2018.
