As Jon Simmons and myself talked about on Future Brew this week, it is going to be very intriguing to see how Ed Warinner and the Michigan football program recruit the offensive line position in the 2021 class. Five of the top 10 players in the state of Michigan in 2021 play on the offensive line, with one (Giovanni El-Hadi) already committed to the Wolverines.
One of the out-of-state targets Warinner and company are going after was on campus this last weekend for the Middle Tennessee State game — four-star Tristan Leigh.
Had a great time at Michigan this weekend, can’t wait to be back!! Thank you @Coach_Gattis @CoachJim4UM @4Warinner @n8crutch @TaylorLewan77 pic.twitter.com/lpgXyZ6iYs

Maize n Brew caught up with the Fairfax, Virginia native after the weekend visit.
“It went very well, I had a great time,” Leigh said. “The energy coming from the stadium during the game really stood out.”
During the visit, the 6-foot-5, 265-pounder not only got to meet former Michigan offensive lineman Taylor Lewan, but he also had the opportunity to speak with Warinner.
“(Warinner) said he liked my film a lot,” Leigh said. “The relationship is new but it’s pretty good.”
Early on in the recruiting process, Leigh says he is also speaking to coaches often from Alabama, LSU, Penn State and Virginia Tech.
Although he admits he isn’t entirely sure yet what he is specifically looking for, Leigh said he is in search of a school where he fits best and “is the best situation for me and my family.”
So, at the end of the day, was the visit good enough to warrant a return trip?
“Yeah I’ll be back for sure,” Leigh said.
When that return trip will be, however, remains to be determined. In fact, at this point, Leigh does not have any visits scheduled to any other schools. But to get a four-star junior on campus and become more interested in the program is certainly a good start for the Wolverines and coach Warinner.
Leigh is the No. 23 offensive tackle, No. 3 player in Virginia and No. 177 player overall in his class, per 247Sports’ composite.
