Maize n Brew has confirmed 2021 four-star cornerback Ceyair Wright is set to visit Michigan during its game against Wisconsin on Nov. 14. The news was first reported by 247Sports ($).
The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder from Los Angeles has long been a top target for the Wolverines, but the main hold up here has been his inability to visit Ann Arbor, mainly due to the ongoing pandemic. But now that he is set to visit campus, the Wolverines may have a legit shot here. All momentum has been in favor of the USC Trojans, as they currently own all five crystal ball predictions, but the Wolverines will look to put a stop to that momentum.
Michigan cornerbacks coach Michael Zordich has led the way all throughout this recruitment. Zordich won’t be able to meet face-to-face with Wright, but what he can do is lay out some places for Wright to check out during his weekend.
The Wolverines are also recruiting another four-star cornerback, Omarion Cooper, but he is currently committed to Florida State. He has still been in contact with the Michigan coaching staff, but with his pledge to the Seminoles, it may take a lot to get him to flip.
Regardless, with only one cornerback committed to the 2021 class for the Wolverines, this is a very important visit for the Wolverines. Knock it out of the park, and Wright could have a lot to think about heading back to L.A.
It seems like Nov. 14 is set up to be a huge recruiting weekend for Michigan, led by the crown jewel of the 2021 class, five-star quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Another big-time visitor for the Wisconsin game will be 2022 five-star cornerback Domani Jackson, who also lives out in California. Other commits and targets are expected to be in Ann Arbor as well.
Wright is the No. 71 overall player and the No. 5 cornerback in the 2021 class.
