Michigan football 2021 offer board update: Oct. 9

A new VIPER candidate is added and Michigan goes 1-for-2 with making elite DTs top lists.

The 2021 offer board update is on a hot streak! This marks three straight editions with a new offer after going three months without one. Three-star Indiana commit Maurice Freeman was offered by the staff earlier this week. While listed as a safety, Freeman’s tape, which I highly recommend watching, screams VIPER. Offering anybody in the 2021 class at this point means they are going to be a legitimate target, so he is now added to the board.

Additions

Added Maurice Freeman to the board. The three-star safety received his offer from Michigan on Oct. 6.

Subtractions

Removed Jalil Farooq from the board. The four-star wide receiver committed to Oklahoma on Sept. 27.

Removed Deion Colzie from the board. The four-star wide receiver committed to Notre Dame (again) on Sept. 28.

Removed John Howse IV from the board. The three-star cornerback committed to Vanderbilt on Sept. 29.

Removed Tysheem Johnson from the board. The four-star safety committed to Ole Miss on Sept. 30.

Removed Noah Josey from the board. The three-star offensive guard committed to Virginia on Oct. 1.

Removed Jayden Thomas from the board. The four-star wide receiver committed to Notre Dame on Oct. 2.

Top Lists

Added “Yes” to Michigan being in JT Tuimoloau’s top group of schools. The five-star DT included Michigan in his top list along with Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington, Ohio State, Alabama and USC.

Added “No” to Michigan being in Tywone Malone’s top group of schools. The four-star DT narrowed down his top list of schools to six: USC, Rutgers, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Florida State and Texas A&M.
