Michigan coaches have been maintaining contact with recruits despite what is going on in the world right now. It may not be face-to-face interaction, but they are doing what they can to work their way around the inconvenience.

One recruit who just received an offer from the Wolverines is 2021 three-star wide receiver Hal Presley. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder from Arlington, Texas got the good news from offensive coordinator Josh Gattis over the phone.

“It was a good feeling,” Presley told Maize n Brew. “(The offer is) something I’ve been waiting for.”

Presley has only spoken to Gattis once over the phone, so the relationship between the two is still growing. However, he admits he feels “it’s gonna be good” as it develops.

Now with the offer in hand, does he have any interest in visiting Ann Arbor once the new recruiting dead period is over?

“Yessir, for sure,” Presley said.

Being from the state of Texas, Presley is surrounded by top notch football programs. But he still views Michigan just as highly as those southern schools.

“I’ve just always looked at (Michigan) as one of the big dogs in college football, and I’ve watched them on TV ever since I was little,” Presley said.

Other schools Presley has interest in are Ole Miss, USC, Cal and Texas. He has yet to visit any of those schools up to this point, but plans to once he’s able.

Some things Presley is looking for in his future school include “a family environment and somewhere that’s gonna push me in every aspect and get me to that next level.”

We will certainly see where this recruitment goes in the next few months, but the Wolverines need a big-bodied receiver in the 2021 class. Presley does have that body type to go up and get the ball deep downfield, so keep his name in mind when it comes to the position moving forward.

Presley is the No. 466 overall prospect in his class, per 247Sports’ composite. Check out highlights from his junior season below.
