Despite his commitment to USC, 2021 four-star defensive tackle Jay Toia released a list of his top eight schools earlier this week, and Michigan was featured.

Michigan was joined by USC, obviously, LSU, UCLA, Cal, Oregon, Utah and Nebraska.
Toia, who has been committed to the Trojans since last June, was offered by the Wolverines in late February. Immediately after receiving the offer, Toia said Michigan would receive one of his five official visits, which indicates it is in the upper echelon of this list.
Speculating any visits at this point is difficult to do, but if and when Toia gets to campus, Michigan will have a great shot to flip him thanks to Shaun Nua and the uncertainty of Clay Helton at USC.
Toia is one of the top targets at defensive tackle for Michigan this cycle, along with four-stars Tywone Malone, Victory Vaka and George Rooks, to name a few.
