The Michigan Wolverines offered one of the top prospects in the 2022 class this week, four-star offensive guard Carson Hinzman. The Saint Croix Central (Wi.) prospect is currently ranked as the No. 2 OG and No. 81 overall prospect in his class by 247 Sports.
Michigan offensive line coach Ed Warinner offered the 6-foot-4, 270 pound prospect, a conversation that Hinzman told Maize n Brew “was awesome”.
“So grateful to be offered by them,” Hinzman said. “We talked a lot about Michigan’s values and what they do there as a program.” When asked what his initial impressions are about Warinner and Michigan’s scheme on offense, Hinzman said “He’s (Warinner) a really great guy and I think their scheme reflects that greatness.”
As it stands currently, Hinzman said that the programs who have an edge in his recruitment are Wisconsin, Iowa, and Notre Dame because he’s had a chance to visit those campuses and believes they do an outstanding job.
Hinzman said he looks forward to possibly visiting Ann Arbor someday and is 100% planning on getting to know Warinner and the Michigan program better. Hinzman holds offers from Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Arizona State, Kansas State, and Michigan.
