The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder from Clayton, Ohio put Michigan on his top eight list earlier this month, along with Michigan State, West Virginia, Iowa State, Indiana, Purdue, Boston College and Kentucky.
The Wolverines offered him back in February, but he has been on Josh Gattis’ radar for longer than that. Allen was one of the top targets at his position for the coaching staff, so they cashed in today with this commitment.
Allen is the first wide receiver to commit to Michigan’s 2021 class. The Wolverines are looking for taller and lengthier guys who can play on the outside in this class, so I don’t expect Allen to be the only wide receiver to join the Wolverines.
During his junior season, Allen racked up 51 receptions for 1,099 yards and 15 touchdowns, according to his Hudl account. He also made a huge jump on the composite ranking in April, shooting up more than 100 spots to No. 493 overall.
