The Michigan Wolverines are doing everything they can to stay busy on the recruiting trail, landing their third commitment in a 24-hour span in the form of three-star linebacker Casey Phinney on Friday morning. His pledge to the Wolverines brings the number of commits up to seven in the 2021 cycle.
Phinney is another East coast prospect for the Wolverines coming out of Noble and Greenough School in Marshfield, Massachusetts. The 247Sports composite rankings have him as the No. 998 overall player in the 2021 class and the No. 40 inside linebacker.
His offer sheet includes Army, Georgetown, Massachusetts, Penn, Princeton, Yale and Boston College.
Phinney is the sixth commit of Michigan’s 2021 recruiting class, along with quarterback J.J. McCarthy, offensive lineman Giovanni El-Hadi, tight end Louis Hansen (who also committed on Thursday), center Greg Crippen, defensive end Dominick Guidice and punter Tommy Doman Jr.
