On Sunday afternoon, the Michigan Wolverines were firmly placed on the top eight list for 2021 three-star Clayton, Ohio wide receiver Markus Allen.

The Wolverines were joined by Michigan State, West Virginia, Iowa State, Indiana, Kentucky, Purdue and Boston College.

Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis is running the point in this recruitment for Michigan, as he and the coaching staff looks to add some size to the receiver room in the 2021 class after taking mostly smaller, shiftier receivers in 2020. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, Allen certainly possesses the traits they are looking for in a receiver in this class.

Two crystal balls are honed in on Michigan at this point, and I would have one in for the Wolverines at this point, as well. No commitment is imminent, but I do like their chances of eventually landing the Ohio native.

The Wolverines currently do not have a wide receiver committed in their 2021 class.

According to 247Sports, Allen had 51 receptions for 1,099 yards and 15 touchdowns his junior season.
