The 2020 linebacker class for the Michigan Wolverines is filled with some intriguing prospects. They added a ton of young depth to fight for a spot on the two-deep headed into their true freshman season. Cornell Wheeler was a lifelong Michigan fan, so when they offered him a scholarship back in 2018, it didn’t take long for the West Bloomfield defender to make his pledge.
He is one of four linebacker pledges in the 2020 class, joined by four-stars Kalel Mullings and Osman Savage, and fellow early-enrollee, three-star Nikhai Hill-Green. 247Sports only lists Wheeler as an inside linebacker, where the others are listed at outside linebacker. Given his skill set, Wheeler has a real shot at breaking the two-deep as a true freshman.
