Michigan’s newest committed player in the 2021 class, three-star wide receiver Andrel Anthony, announced he is planning to enroll early in January.
I’ll Be Enrolled @ The Big House In January.. #GoBlue 〽️
— Andrel Anthony Jr. (@andrel_jr) August 14, 2020
Anthony is the second wide receiver to announce his intentions to enroll early at Michigan, as four-star Xavier Worthy also announced the same thing last month.
As a junior at East Lansing High School, Anthony caught 54 passes for 954 yards and nine touchdowns. Unfortunately for Anthony and many others, he will not be able to play his senior year of high school due to the Michigan High School Athletic Association pushing the fall football season to the spring due to the pandemic.
Anthony committed to Michigan a couple weeks ago over in-state rival MSU, Notre Dame and Penn State. Anthony was trending on the crystal ball to the Spartans, but an impromptu visit to Ann Arbor a week before his commitment gave Michigan the permanent lead.
Anthony is the fourth receiver to commit to Michigan in 2021, joining Worthy, four-star Cristian Dixon and three-star Markus Allen.
