The Michigan Wolverines just padded its top-10 2021 football recruiting class with the addition of three-star running back Tavierre Dunlap on Saturday evening, Dunlap has been the No. 2 running back on the board behind Donovan Edwards for a while now. He narrowed his choice down to Michigan and Oklahoma State last week before eventually pulling the trigger for the Wolverines. USC and Utah were also heavily involved.

The 6-foot, 196-pounder is ranked No. 374 nationally and is considered the No. 22 running back, per the 247Sports composite.

As a junior for Del Valle (TX), Dunlap rushed 128 times for 1,341 yards, which is over 10 yards a pop. He scored 20 touchdowns on the ground and also caught 20 passes for 208 yards and three scores.

Before any questions get asked, this will not affect Michigan’s pursuit of Edwards. Michigan has wanted two backs throughout the cycle and you can trust the staff made sure Edwards knew about them taking Dunlap and was comfortable with it.

Michigan’s class now sits eighth in the country. Check out Dunlap’s junior highlights on Hudl below:
