Michigan safeties coach Bob Shoop plans to talk with 2022 five-star safety Keon Sabb Tuesday afternoon, Maize n Brew has learned. Shoop and Jim Harbaugh spoke with Sabb last Friday as well.
“They just checking in on me,” Sabb told Maize n Brew.
The elite 6-foot-3, 195-pounder from Williamstown, New Jersey is a top priority for Shoop and the Wolverines in his class. He was immediately reached out to on Sept. 1, the first day college coaches are allowed to personally reach out to the junior class.
“(Michigan is) recruiting me hard, several schools are,” Sabb said last week. “Clemson, Penn State, Texas A&M, Florida State, Florida, Georgia.”
This recruitment has a long way to go, but it is good to see Shoop and Harbaugh making it known how badly they want him. Sabb knows how important he would be to Michigan’s 2022 class, so it’s nice to see Michigan’s coaches staying in constant contact with him. Given how many elite programs are recruiting him, this will be a tough pull, but Michigan should have a decent shot here. Stay tuned for further news on this recruitment.
Sabb is the No. 1 athlete, No. 1 player in New Jersey and No. 13 overall player in his class on 247Sports’ composite.
