Michigan co-defensive coordinator/cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist dished out scholarship offers to tons of kids in the 2022 class this past week, especially in the state of Texas. One of the guys he sent an offer to was four-star cornerback Terrance Brooks.

“I felt excited and blessed to receive the offer,” Brooks told Maize n Brew. “I thought really high of (Linguist). He seemed legit and he said he can get me where I wanna go.”

A native of Plano, the 6-foot, 185-pounder has more than 20 scholarship offers to his name.

The other schools Brooks is interested in include Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Missouri, Nebraska, SMU and TCU. With the reciprocated interest from some of the top schools in the nation, Brooks’ recruitment is “wide open.”

Brooks is hoping to take visits to all the schools he is interested in before making a decision on his future school. He hopes to make that decision around the beginning of the summer.

“I look forward to visiting the schools I just named, to go up to the campus and see how things are there,” he said.

When it comes to his future school, Brooks said he is looking for a “good education, good relationship with coaches, and a chance to play my freshman year.”

There are no crystal ball predictions yet for Brooks, but he is a legacy of Texas A&M, so that will be one school to look out for in this recruitment.

Brooks is the No. 29 cornerback, No. 37 player in the state of Texas and No. 285 overall player in his class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
