Whether or not you agree with the University of Michigan’s decision to sign head coach Jim Harbaugh to a contract extension, it’s pretty clear how important this was to both the signed players in the 2021 class, and the prospects from the 2022 class.
Had Harbaugh not been extended, that would have left open the possibility of some of the signed 2021 players getting out of their letter of intent. Then the new staff would come in and you would have to reestablish relationships with the 2022 players the previous staff was going after. That is, if that new staff also wanted to go after them.
So needless to say, Harbaugh staying on was great news on the recruiting trail.
And with that news, came reactions from recruits on social media. The crown jewel of Michigan’s 2021 class, five-star quarterback J.J. McCarthy, is as vocal as they come. He helped Michigan reel in some of its top targets in his cycle, and he was among the first to react to the news on Twitter, giving a hardy “Go Blue.”

2021 four-star linebacker Junior Colson, who was previously shocked by the new of Don Brown being fired, also showed his appreciation for Harbaugh’s extension.

2021 four-star tight end Louis Hansen kept his reaction short and simple, tweeting out one of the more used GIFs of the Harbaugh era at Michigan.

2021 three-star wide receiver signee Andrel Anthony took a line from Tom Brady’s vernacular to show his excitement.
