The Michigan Wolverine coaching staff is still acting as if they expect the recruiting dead period to open up at the end of May. More prospects have announced dates for their official visits to Ann Arbor. We have that, plus an update on a player with a visit already on the books in today’s roundup!
Three-star pass rusher schedules official visit
The latest uncommitted prospect to lock in an official visit to Michigan is 2022 Texas three-star defensive end Joseph Adedire. He posted a graphic on Twitter he will be up north for the weekend of June 18, which Michigan is terming “Victors Weekend.”

Adedire has caught fire in his recruitment in the last couple months. After receiving his first Power 5 offer from Georgia Tech, he has picked up scholarships from Michigan, Arizona, Baylor, Boston College, Cal, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa State and Northwestern.
He has also set up an official visit to Georgia Tech for the weekend before his visit to Michigan. From the schools that have offered him and his official visits, it appears he weighs academics heavily.
As his recruitment has just taken off, there are no crystal ball predictions for Adedire yet.
Pair of Michigan commits set official visit dates
Recruits committed to Michigan have also started scheduling official visits in order to recruit their peers and see campus themselves. The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich confirmed 2022 five-star cornerback Will Johnson and 2022 four-star athlete Kody Jones are planning to officially visit in June ($).
Jones will be taking his official visit from June 11-13. Having never seen campus before, Jones said he is also trying to get up for an unofficial before then.
Johnson has set his official visit for June 18-20, the aforementioned Victors Weekend. Having emerged as the lead recruiter in his class, it’s good news to see he will be on campus with top targets Justice Finkley, Lucas Heyer, Joe Strickland and Adedire.
Michigan makes cut for four-star DE
Speaking of Finkley, the Alabama four-star released his top 12 schools last Friday. Michigan of course made the cut, and given the Wolverines are one of only two schools with an official visit on the books so far, it’s safe to say they are near the top of that list.

247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong spoke with Finkley about the schools on his list, which includes Florida, Colorado, Texas, LSU, Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina, USC, Kentucky, Stanford and UCF ($). Here’s what he had to say about Michigan:
“Michigan is a top program with a top coach. The scheme which they foresee me playing in is something I’m excited about. In recent years they have produced and sent them in the NFL in my position.”
Texas is the other school set to receive an official visit from Finkley, and Alabama will always be a threat for the in-state prospect, but Michigan has a better shot than many would think.
