A major target along the defensive line has scheduled an official visit to Michigan, as 2022 three-star Hayden Schwartz will be in Ann Arbor the weekend of June 4.
“I have Michigan set for (June) 4-6 and am setting up a couple others,” Schwartz told Maize n Brew Tuesday afternoon.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder hails from Jacksonville, Florida. He was offered by the Wolverines back in January and has been a primary target along the defensive line ever since. Shaun Nua and George Helow are tag-teaming this recruitment.
As a junior in 2020, Schwartz was named to the Jacksonville.com All-First Coast third-team, compiling 68 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hurries, four sacks and two forced fumbles for The Bolles School. His contributions led his team to a 10-3 record and an appearance in the 4A state championship game.
Michigan appears to be right in the thick of this race. Schwartz has been receptive to the Wolverines’ pitches thus far, and locking in an official visit is exactly what they needed to do to have a better chance at landing him.
Schwartz is currently the No. 42 defensive tackle, No. 73 player in Florida and No. 547 overall player on 247Sports’ composite. He holds other offers from schools like Miami, Penn State, Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska, Maryland, Stanford, Louisville, Iowa State and more.
