Sherrone Moore officially entered the Michigan Wolverines into the mix for 2022 three-star Nashville offensive lineman Jacob Hood on Wednesday after offering him a scholarship.

“It was great to hear that I’m wanted at Michigan,” Hood told Maize n Brew. “Based off the call, I would say coach Moore shows interest in his players.”

A bulk of the conversation was based on Moore getting to know Hood and his family more, but another aspect of it focused on Hood recently losing weight and his motivation. He currently stands 6-foot-8 and weighs 330 pounds. Hood says 310 pounds “sounds good, but 330 is probably where I’ll stay until otherwise.”

Now with the Michigan offer, Hood admits it is a school that is “definitely on my radar.” Other schools he has high interest in include Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and LSU, to name just a handful. He also holds offers from Baylor, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas A&M and more.

At the moment, Hood plans to officially visit Auburn on June 4 and Georgia on June 11. When asked if he thinks Michigan will also get one of his official visits, he didn’t hesitate to give a resounding “yes.” He doesn’t exactly know when that will be, but when it does, he most looks forward to seeing the “dorms, locker room, the field (and the) classrooms.”

And what is it exactly he is looking for in his future school”

“Somewhere I can be successful and feel at home and have good coach communication,” Hood said.

The current plan for Hood is to commit to his future program by the end of the summer and finish high school early so he can enroll in January.

Hood is the No. 43 offensive tackle, No. 15 player in Tennessee and No. 413 overall player on 247Sports’ composite. You can check out highlights from his junior year below, where he demolishes everybody at both left and right tackle.
