Today’s recruiting roundup has a similar theme as all the other ones this month, which is targets setting up their official visits for June. A handful of new guys have announced their official visit dates, including a surprising commit to an SEC school.
Three-star DE locks in official visit date
First up is 2022 North Carolina defensive end Beau Atkinson, who announced on Twitter he’ll be visiting Michigan from June 11-13.

Atkinson was offered by the staff about a month ago and stands at 6-foot-6, 240 pounds. His frame and the fact he tagged defensive analyst Ryan Osborn in the tweet indicates he’s probably being looked at as an outside linebacker in Mike Macdonald’s scheme.
So far, Atkinson has also set up official visits to Miami on June 1 and Virginia on June 18. Georgia Tech, Penn State and Virginia Tech are also listed as “warm” on his 247Sports profile, so they will be battling for his final two spots.
Top-100 Georgia commit announces official visit plans
Out of the blue, 2022 four-star cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew posted he is taking an official visit to Michigan. This is a surprising development considering he has been committed to Georgia for almost a year and there haven’t been any rumblings about Michigan being in contact with him.

Groves-Killebrew hasn’t announced he’s taking any officials elsewhere, so Mo Linguist must really be putting in the work here. He’ll be up for the Victors Weekend on June 18.
Georgia has one other cornerback commit in its class, five-star Deyon Bouie, who is listed as an athlete but projects to defensive back. The only other cornerback listed as a top target on the Bulldogs’ 247Sports page is five-star Daylen Everette, but if they do land him it could be enough to push Groves-Killebrew out of the class, which speaks to the level of recruiting Georgia is at right now.
Nevertheless, this is an intriguing development that will be interesting to follow in the coming months.
Speedy Florida WR sets official visit date
Wrapping up the new visitors is 2022 three-star wide receiver Chandler Smith, who will be on campus for the weekend of June 25.

While ranked as only the No. 767 overall prospect in the country, Smith has a long offer list because of his combination of speed at size.
At 6-foot-3, Smith ran a 10.52 100-meter and 21.40 200-meter during his junior track season. This has earned him offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Penn State and several others.
Smith has set three other official visits along with Michigan. On June 4, he will visit Arkansas, then go to South Carolina on June 11 and Florida on June 18.
Pulling Smith out of the south will be a tough proposition, but getting the last official visit will help keep Michigan at the top of his mind during his process.
