Maize n Brew confirmed Thursday that 2022 five-star safety Keon Sabb is set to officially visit the Michigan football program next week. This will be his first time on campus.
Sabb’s official visit will be during the week, just after Victors Weekend. He will officially visit Georgia this weekend, followed by Michigan midweek, and then Texas A&M next weekend, June 24. He previously officially visited Penn State June 4.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder originally hails from New Jersey, but transferred to IMG Academy to play his senior season. He is among the top defensive backs in the country and was offered by the Wolverines last May.
It looked like Michigan was out of the running for Sabb, but getting him in on an official visit goes to show the work new safeties coach Ron Bellamy is putting in on the recruiting trail. I still don’t think the Wolverines have a great shot at landing him, but the official visit will at the very least give them a shot.
Up to this point, Michigan has no safeties committed to its 2022 class.
Sabb is the No. 2 athlete and No. 22 overall player on 247Sports’ composite rankings. There is one crystal ball in for Clemson, a school he unofficially visited last week.
Stay tuned to Maize n Brew for updates on Sabb’s visit.
