Michigan football grabbed another commitment in the 2022 cycle on Saturday in the form of three-star linebacker Aaron Alexander out of Belleville High School. He was the second player to commit to the program during a busy visit weekend in Ann Arbor.
Alexander’s recruitment has been a whirlwind as of late, as he did not have a scholarship offer from any schools just weeks ago. He drew the attention of Michigan after the showcase at Ferris State a few weeks ago. Then, he ran a 4.4 40-yard dash during the camp in Ann Arbor on June 13. A scholarship offer quickly followed.
“Michigan being my dream school and the amount of love the coaches showed me ultimately lead to my decision,” Alexander told Maize n Brew following his commitment. “I was ecstatic. A dream come true. That feeling is unimaginable. I told basically everyone I called a friend or family.”
247Sports has Alexander set as the No. 78-ranked linebacker in the country and 23rd-best player in the state of Michigan. His primary recruiters were Steve Clinkscale and Ron Bellamy per his player profile.
Alexander is the ninth pledge of the 2022 class to this point. Three-star running back CJ Stokes made his commitment official earlier on Saturday.
