The Michigan Wolverines have found their quarterback for the 2022 recruiting class in the form of four-star passer Jayden Denegal, as he committed to the program on Wednesday afternoon.

Denegal’s recruitment came together extremely quickly, as he was in Ann Arbor this morning working out for Michigan coaches. He received an offer from head coach Jim Harbaugh and staff and jumped on it immediately.

“I’m really excited to be a Wolverine,” Denegal told 247Sports. “This is a dream for me, to play for a big time school like Michigan. I really didn’t know what to expect coming out here but was hoping for the best.

“Once they offered me, there was no need to wait it out. I love this coaching staff and it was great working out with them. Even coach Harbaugh was out there with me taking some reps. There is so much history and tradition here and it’s just a great all around fit. It’s a great academic fit for me too, Michigan really is the best of every world and I’m almost speechless right now.”

Denegal is a four-star recruit and the No. 267 player in the 2022 class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. They have him as the 19th-ranked quarterback in the country and 19th-best player in the state of California.
