Alessandro Lorenzetti, a 2022 three-star offensive lineman, became the most recent prospect who visited on Victors Weekend to give his pledge to Michigan shortly following his trip.

The 6-foot-6, 285-pounder was basically an unknown until the start of this month. A native of Canada, Lorenzetti has not played in an official game in the United States yet because of the pandemic. A transfer to the Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut, he was only able to play in their spring scrimmage this year.
Lorenzetti was still able to garner major interest from schools thanks to a string of camps he hit in the spring. He picked up offers from Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Baylor, Vanderbilt, Penn State, Georgia and Michigan.
On June 14, Lorenzetti camped in front of the Michigan coaches, which resulted in his offer. He quickly altered his plans to take an official visit in Ann Arbor just days later. Just a few days after that, he narrowed his list down to three schools — Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State.
“I like the people there a lot,” Lorenzetti told 247Sports’ Brian Dohn after he released his top three schools. “I like coach (Sherrone) Moore, the offensive line coach. He is a really nice guy, very genuine. I like coach (Jim) Harbaugh and I like the vibe I got from the school. Everything was very good. I feel like I could do well. The academics, too, that is a big part of this decision.
“The one thing that really stood out to me and the reason I wanted to go back and visit instead of going to Virginia Tech was coach Moore. He’s just a really nice guy. I think I can do very well with him.”
Lorenzetti is Michigan’s second offensive line commit in the 2022 class, following three-star Connor Jones. Other targets at the position include five-star Josh Conerly, four-star George Fitzpatrick and three-star Ashton Craig.
