The Michigan Wolverines picked up another member of the 2022 recruiting class late Friday afternoon in the form of three-star linebacker Kevonte Henry.

“I’d like to thank all of the schools that took time getting to know me and my family,” he posted on social media. “I was told that I should commit when I felt most comfortable and sure about my decision. So I’d like to announce my commitment to the University of Michigan! #GoBlue”

Henry is a three-star prospect and the No. 833 overall player in the class of 2022, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. The outlet ranks him as the 82nd-ranked linebacker in the country and 59th-best player in the state of California. He also held offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, USC and Utah, among others.

Henry is the 10th player to commit to Michigan’s 2022 class so far, which is headlined by a pair of top-100 prospects in five-star cornerback Will Johnson and four-star wide receiver Tyler Morris.

Michigan sees Henry as an outside linebacker/pass rusher in the new defensive scheme. He was considered one of their top targets at the position currently on the board, which made Friday good news for the coaching staff.
