The Michigan Wolverines hosted a few 2022 official visitors over the weekend, and one of them was top target Jahlil Florence. The three-star cornerback hails from San Diego, California and got to see what the University of Michigan has to offer up close for the very first time.
Maize n Brew caught up with Florence after the visit to get all the details.
“It was awesome, man, the standard is set high,” Florence said. “(We) did so much. Favorite thing was eating dinner with coach Harbaugh and the rest of the coaching staff in a suite in the stadium overseeing the field. It was awesome.”
Florence also got to spend time with the other official visitors in Ann Arbor this past weekend — 2022 three-star safety Ja’Kobi Albert and 2022 three-star tight end Colston Loveland.
“Those my guys, we clicked pretty fast,” Florence said. “Me and Ja’Kobi ended up staying in each other’s room.”
When asked what the Wolverines need to do to win this recruiting battle, Florence simply said, “Keep doing what they’re doing.”
After this visit, I fully expect the Wolverines to turn up the heat even more in this recruitment. Florence is one of their top targets at the cornerback position in the 2022 class and it seems like they left a really good impression on him. I also fully expect them to be one of the three remaining schools in his recruitment come the Fourth of July, when he intends to release his top three list.
Things are looking good for Michigan right now. Keep fighting the good fight and more good news could eventually come its way. For now, keep it locked in on Maize n Brew for more developments.
Florence is the No. 37 cornerback, No. 24 player in the state of California and No. 387 overall player on 247Sports’ composite. 247Sports’ personal rankings have him as a four-star prospect.
