The Michigan football program received some good news on the Fourth of July, as 2022 three-star cornerback Jahlil Florence put the Wolverines in his top three. They will be fighting a couple West Coast heavyweights for his services, as he also included Oregon and Washington on his top list.

Florence (6-foot-1, 180 pounds) officially visited Michigan the final weekend in June, canceling a previously-scheduled trip to Syracuse in order to do so. He was supposed to visit for Victors Weekend the weekend prior, but had to reschedule due to a track meet.
Speaking of track and field, the San Diego, California native ran a 11.01 100-meter and a 22.58 200-meter as a junior, winning his league with those times. His personal best 100-meter time is 10.77. He also plays basketball at Lincoln High School.
“It was awesome, man, the standard is set high,” Florence told Maize n Brew after his visit. “(We) did so much. Favorite thing was eating dinner with coach Harbaugh and the rest of the coaching staff in a suite in the stadium overseeing the field. It was awesome.”
Florence is one of a couple top targets at the cornerback position for Michigan remaining in this 2022 class. The Wolverines also continue to recruit three-star Myles Pollard and four-star Georgia commit Marquis Groves-Killebrew. They also recently offered three-star Kentucky commit Andre Stewart, who committed to the Wildcats when Steve Clinkscale was still down there.
It sounds like Florence is hoping to get out on more visits this fall before making his commitment, so I don’t anticipate this one ending soon. The Wolverines are clearly in good shape after the visit, so stay tuned to Maize n Brew for developments in this recruitment.
Florence is No. 389 overall on the 247Sports composite.
