It’s Sept. 1, which means college football coaches are now officially allowed to directly contact class of 2023 recruits.

These current juniors have already been recruited heavily by Michigan’s staff and others, but before today, the prospects had to initiate the call with the coaches instead of the other way around.

Michigan revealed their campaign for the 2023 class a couple days ago, which is centered around the hashtag #RareHeir23 and is going to emphasize the Jordan brand heavily given that 23 was MJ’s number.

The Michigan coaching and recruiting staff didn’t waste a second to contact their top prospects and were waiting for it to hit midnight in each time zone, as evidenced by tweets by a couple of Michigan staffers.

Michigan director of recruiting Aashon Larkins:

Defensive assistant Ryan Osborn:

A few prospects also shared the graphics sent out by the team, revealing just a handful of the guys that were contacted.

IMG Academy (FL) four-star defensive lineman Will Norman:

West Bloomfield (MI) four-star offensive lineman Amir Herring:

Benedictine (VA) four-star defensive lineman Joel Starlings:

Four-star defensive lineman AJ Hoffler:

Four-star defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett:

Three-star offensive lineman Joe Crocker:

Again, this is just a sampling of the guys Michigan called right at midnight so rest assured, five-star in-state quarterback Dante Moore was definitely called.
