Michigan picked up a huge piece for its defensive line today when 2022 three-star defensive tackle Kenneth Grant chose the Wolverines over Ohio State and Wisconsin.

At 6-foot-4, 335 pounds, Grant is a pure nose tackle set to anchor the middle of Mike Macdonald’s 3-4 defense, a spot Michigan sorely needs depth at right now.
Michigan offered Grant back in March. Once visits opened up in June, U-M became one of the top contenders for the planet-sized tackle.
Grant took unofficials to Ann Arbor in June and for the BBQ at the Big House at the end of July before finally using his official visit for the Washington game.
Grant’s recruiting profile rose throughout the summer, along with Michigan’s chances of landing him. Unranked on the composite for a long time, he earned three separate ratings bumps from 247Sports, with the last putting him as a four-star to their service.
Grant joins Mason Graham as the defensive linemen in the class that will look to add one or two more before the cycle ends. Michigan’s class sits at 14th in the country and third in the Big Ten after the addition of Grant.
