Derrick Walton Out for Michigan-Nebraska
News out of Crisler, @DerrickWalton10 will not play tonight for UM against Nebraska. #NextManUp #GoBlue
— Michigan Basketball (@umichbball) January 27, 2015
Michigan starting point guard Derrick Walton will miss tonight's home contest against Nebraska, Michigan announced via its official Twitter account. While Michigan didn't disclose the reason for Walton's absence, it's presumed that it is related to a sprained toe that has been bothering him most of the season. This is a big blow for the Wolverines as they will be without Walton, who had averaged 14.5 points and six rebounds in his last two games, and Caris LeVert tonight. Expect freshman Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman to start in Walton's place. Michigan and Nebraska will tip tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
