After a dominating performance on a foggy and wet Saturday night against Minnesota, two Michigan backs earned Big Ten Co-Offensive Players of the Week honors.
Higdon and Evans combined for 393 yards and four TDs on only 29 carries, for an average of 13.5 yards per carry. They also both contributed big plays in the game, with TD runs of 77 yards, 67 yards, and 60 yards.
Karan Higdon without question is one of the surprising players of the year. Back in August, many were looking at him to play a complementary role in the backfield. Chris Evans, who was the predicted featured back in this group, is performing well so far with 489 total yards averaging 5.5 yards per carry, and four touchdowns.
Through nine games, Higdon has 804 total yards, averaging 6.8 yards per carry with 10 touchdowns. He is on pace to reach 1,000 yards with three games left. While a solid passing game will be very important in the remaining games, this duo is something that could excel beyond expectations at the end of the season with a few huge wins.
