Former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson had two of the best seasons statistically in Wolverines football history.
That still doesn’t mean he can throw a baseball.
Robinson "threw" the first pitch in the Detroit Tigers 7-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Detroit on Tuesday. I put "threw" in quotation marks, because Shoelace bounce passed the baseball toward home plate in a Trey Burke-to-Glen Rice III fashion.
Check the tape:
Nevertheless, it’s still a pretty big deal for Robinson to throw out the opening pitch for the Tigers. Not very many people get to do that. And, the ones that do are usually a pretty big deal.
Fortunately, for Robinson, he’s going to cash in at the end of this month when he becomes a draft pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, for Robinson, his first pitch solidifies his decision to play wide receiver/cornerback in the NFL.
Also, how cool was it to see the No. 16 Tigers jersey Robinson was wearing? He looked pretty sweet wearing that.
